Fall is an ideal time to take prayer walks in our neighborhoods since weather is nice and people are active outside. You can certainly do one by yourself, but even better… do it as a youth group, as a family, as a Connection Group! Next week learn HOW to do prayer walks, but this week,

“Why should we take prayer walks in our community?” Here are the top reasons given by Kevin Wilson, LCMS Director of Mission and Ministry for our Ohio District:

• We want to make disciples of Jesus among people who live in our church community (Matthew 28:19), and walking the sidewalks helps us become aware of who lives here and ways we might connect.

• We want to love our neighbors as Jesus does (Matthew 22:39) and on prayer walks we can pray for people we see, note needs that might present service opportunities, and connect in conversation to build relationships.

• We want to stay spiritually healthy in growing (1 Peter 5:2) and this activity provides "learning by doing" for the areas of praying, serving, sharing the Gospel, and stepping outside of comfort zones.

May God enable us to "walk the talk" through our neighborhoods and community... for His glory!
