Signs of the Savior: The Sign of Signs

Signs of the Savior: The Sign of Signs

Do I take joy in working with my Father?

Younger Set - share in words or pictures:
• An amazing thing my dad can do is ...
• I like to _____________ with my dad!
• An amazing thing my heavenly Father does is ...
• I have helped God in His work this week by ...
• A miracle I am praying for is ...

Most boys and girls truly enjoy spending time with their fathers. Dads can be heroes in their children’s lives… fixing things that are broken, moving things no one else can lift, taking away hurts and fears, playing games no one else will play, challenging and believing and helping dreams become reality.

Our heavenly Father is the perfect father!

And He works in our lives during the 2000s A.D. as mightily as He did for the children of Israel during the 1400s B.C. (Deuteronomy 1:29-33) and for the early believers during the 30s-100 A.D. (Acts 2:42-47).

Am I expecting Him to work in miraculous ways? Am I inviting Him to USE ME to participate in these miracles?

Lord, we believe… help our unbelief (Mark 9:24)... for Your kingdom’s growth and for Your glory, Amen.

Points to Ponder – Have I experienced a miracle in my life or do I know someone that has? Do all miracles people experience result in them having faith in Jesus Christ as their Savior? Why not? What is the most important miracle ("Sign of Signs") and how does it happen in a person? How is the Lord working through me right now to help another experience the miracle of faith? What miracles am I praying for? How can my Connection Group help me?

READ John 4:46-54 NIV

46 Once more he visited Cana in Galilee, where he had turned the water into wine. And there was a certain royal official whose son lay sick at Capernaum. 47 When this man heard that Jesus had arrived in Galilee from Judea, he went to him and begged him to come and heal his son, who was close to death.

48 “Unless you people see signs and wonders,” Jesus told him, “you will never believe.”

49 The royal official said, “Sir, come down before my child dies.”

50 “Go,” Jesus replied, “your son will live.”

The man took Jesus at his word and departed. 51 While he was still on the way, his servants met him with the news that his boy was living. 52 When he inquired as to the time when his son got better, they said to him, “Yesterday, at one in the afternoon, the fever left him.”

53 Then the father realized that this was the exact time at which Jesus had said to him, “Your son will live.” So he and his whole household believed.

54 This was the second sign Jesus performed after coming from Judea to Galilee.
